Adding & Managing Products

How to add products, set prices, manage variants, and track inventory.

Your Product Catalog

Your products are the heart of your store. Kasify gives you a clean, straightforward catalog management system where you can add unlimited products, organize them into collections, set prices, manage stock levels, and control what's visible to customers — all from one place.

Creating a New Product

Go to Catalog → Products and click the New Product button in the top right corner.

You'll see a product form with the following fields:

| Field | What to enter | |---|---| | Name | The product's public name (e.g. "Cotton Tote Bag — Natural") | | Description | A clear, friendly description of what the product is | | Price | The selling price customers will see | | Compare-at price | The original price if you're running a sale (shows a strikethrough) | | Images | One or more product photos | | Status | Draft (hidden) or Active (visible in your store) |

Fill in as much detail as you can. Customers can't touch or try your products — your words and photos do all the selling.

Click Save when you're done. The product is saved immediately and you can come back to edit it any time.

Adding Product Variants

If your product comes in different options — like sizes, colors, or materials — you can set these up as variants. A variant is a specific combination of options (e.g. "Blue / Large").

To add variants:

  1. Open the product and scroll to the Variants section.
  2. Click Add option and give it a name (e.g. "Size" or "Color").
  3. Enter the available values (e.g. "Small, Medium, Large" or "Red, Blue, Green").
  4. Kasify will automatically generate all the combinations for you.
  5. Set the price and stock level for each variant individually if they differ.

Variants let you manage one product with many options rather than creating a separate product for every size or color. This keeps your catalog clean and easy to manage.

Tracking Inventory

To track how many units you have in stock, enable Inventory Tracking on the product (or per variant).

Once enabled, you'll see a Stock field. Enter your current quantity. As customers buy, Kasify automatically decrements the count.

| Setting | What it does | |---|---| | Track inventory | Counts down as orders are placed | | Allow overselling | Lets customers buy even when stock hits 0 | | Low stock threshold | Get a warning when stock drops below a number you set |

When stock reaches 0 and overselling is off, the product will automatically show as Out of Stock on your storefront and the add-to-cart button will be disabled.

Draft vs. Active

Every product has a status that controls whether customers can see it.

  • Draft — the product is saved but hidden from your storefront. Use this while you're still writing the description or waiting for photos.
  • Active — the product is live and visible to everyone who visits your store.

You can toggle the status at any time from the product list or from inside the product editor.

Organizing Products into Collections

Collections let you group related products together (e.g. "Summer Sale", "Best Sellers", "Women's Tops"). Customers can browse by collection, and you can feature collections on your homepage.

To create a collection, go to Catalog → Collections → New Collection. Give it a name, an optional description, and a cover image. Then assign products to it — you can add a product to more than one collection.

Tips for Better Product Listings

Photos matter most. Use natural light, a clean background, and show the product from multiple angles. If you sell clothing, include a photo of it being worn. Aim for at least 3 images per product.

Write descriptions for your customer, not yourself. Describe how the product benefits them. Instead of "100% cotton fabric", try "Soft, breathable cotton that feels great all day — even in summer."

Use the compare-at price for sales. Showing a crossed-out original price creates urgency and clearly communicates the discount.

Keep your catalog tidy. Archive products you no longer sell rather than deleting them — this preserves your order history.
